Meet The Team

We are looking forward to welcoming you and your child to Little Wishes Chermside to ensure their learning journey is one of happiness, friendship and partnership creating special memories.

I really enjoy seeing how happy the staff are at work. I see them helping children so often in play and gardening and watering the plants. I know that my son is so safe with them, and I feel so happy when I go to work.

Tracey

Kindergarten Program Lead

Our Kindergarten Program is led by Tracey, a 25 years experienced Early Childhood Teacher. Tracey has worked alongside Jocie our Service Director for six years and who together hold the same vision for our Kindy Program. Such experience and passion for early years is invaluable and rare.

Tracey holds a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, has recently completed her Graduate Diploma in Inclusive Education, and is registered with the Queensland College of Teachers.

Tracey’s Kindergarten Program follows current research where children are supported in a slowed down pedagogy which allows for project-based learning to develop emotional resilience, perseverance, the ability to problem solve and collaborate with others. This leading learning practice embraces child agency and voice in their environments. Tracey is an advocate for relationship-based programs with a balance of play based and intentional learning experiences.

Jocie

Service Director and Educational Leader

My name is Jocie and I am the Service Director and Educational Leader at Little Wishes Early Learning Chermside.  I am committed to supporting each child’s learning journey, ensuring they are respected with care and kindness. I believe deeply in guiding authentic and contextual curriculum, which is meaningful to children, and supporting practices which respond to their individual needs.  At Little Wishes we  “teach and act from the heart”.  I believe that as educators our role is vital in building trusted relationships to create an intrinsic sense of security and belonging.

I also hold dear the notion that through collaboration, reflection and laughter early childhood educators truly can make such a difference in the learning of young children when we work in partnerships with our families.

Our indoor and outdoor learning environments support our vision of relationship-based education and care, where children are able to explore, make new friends, learning each day as they play in collaboration with their educators and peers.  I hold seventeen years’ experience in teaching and leadership roles early childhood, including ten years as Teacher, Director and Educational Leader with C&K Community Kindergartens.

We couldn’t be happier with Little Wishes Early Learning Centre at Chermside. The facilities are clean, well-equipped, and all spaces are thoughtfully designed - with spacious rooms and outdoor spaces.

I really appreciate how thorough and knowledgeable Tracey is when we speak about my son’s day. She always gives me details and I can see how quickly he is settling in already in his first week. I am so happy with Tracey and I know that he will be so lucky to have her as his Kindy teacher.
