Our Kindergarten Program is led by Tracey, a 25 years experienced Early Childhood Teacher. Tracey holds a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, has recently completed her Graduate Diploma in Inclusive Education, and is registered with the Queensland College of Teachers.

Such experience and passion for early years is invaluable and rare. Tracey’s Kindergarten Program follows current research where children are supported in a slowed down pedagogy which allows for project-based learning to develop emotional resilience, perseverance, the ability to problem solve and collaborate with others. This leading learning practice embraces child agency and voice in their environments. Tracey is an advocate for relationship-based programs with a balance of play based and intentional learning experiences.

I am Mikala, the Service Director of Little Wishes Chermside and I am proud of our team’s commitment to child safety and placing the interest of the children at the centre of each day.

With over a decade of experience in early childhood education and as a parent myself, I understand how important these early years are, not just for children, but for families and educators too. My focus has always been on creating a space that feels safe, calm, and connected, a place where children feel at home and where relationships come first.

I believe in play-based learning that respects each child’s pace and interests. When children are given time, autonomy, and meaningful connection, they thrive. I am influenced by the Circle of Security approach and committed to creating emotionally safe environments where children feel seen, capable, and supported to explore the world around them.

As a leader, I am hands-on and collaborative. You will find me in the rooms, working alongside our team, guiding practice, and supporting educators to reflect and grow. I believe that being qualified is just the beginning, we learn every day through the work we do. My role is to support educators to feel confident, capable, and continually developing, because this directly impacts the quality of care and relationships we provide.
